Start of the week

I am always thinking about simplifying things. I trying to think outside the box. I kept the lighting really simple and allowed the Pom to stand out. The texture is the intrigue, photographs that enthrall me always have a sense of depth and texture. I tried to show how different it truly is.

What a wonderful End to May

The snow falling last night and the really unique twilight was quite bizarre. I love the big perfectly shaped snow flakes. I saw a couple of moments that I really liked. I will have a couple of more studio based shots for monday. Oddly enough it was a strangely satisfying evening.

An extended long weekend

The long weekend has set back my time schedule a little too much so after a day of heavy guilt here is my new post.

As frost and snow approaches us yet again, I thought that I would refer back a few months to when frost was heavy and appropriate. Now the snow is unwanted and detested.

Street Photography 2

One of the many things that intrigue me with photography is the ability to turn the everyday moment into a scene. The ability to freeze and frame; crop and edit; are often overlooked tools that simplicity can get lost.

Tuesday

I have begun shooting again, now that I am settled. Moving is taxing on the creativity. I will post some of my new work in another day or so. Here is the 3rd piece in my Mannequin series. With many more to come.

Monday May 17th

Now that I am finally settled in my new place I will start posting new work again soon. Today is a shot of the Celgar lumber mill in Castlegar. It is the life blood of the town, with out such a plant the town would be gone. It is really interesting that an entire region lives and dies by development of a single employer. At night I found it to be quite beautiful, in the day a massive eye sore.

I have been experimenting with different articles of clothing and wondering about different ways to show them. The tie is such a basic staple of mens clothing that I wanted display it out of the norm. I have been using many different types of backgrounds and ties, this is something that I have been shooting for a couple of months now.

Missing yesterday

I have promised myself that I will not let this happen. Especially since I am pretty new to this. I am enthralled with swimming pools and any other body of water that is lit at night. This is one from last fall before they closed up shop for the winter. Soon it will be time yet again for this year.

While out for a walk I came across this scene. I am always interested in scenes like this that can be framed in some many different ways. I love street photography.

Diner time

I have been working with this mannequin for a couple of weeks now. He is a good subject, not a lot of complaints but not a lot of personality, but the best part is that we are the same size of clothes, giving me many options to dress him. I absolutely loved the light within the dining room and thought it would provide what I was looking for.

Day one

I have finally organized myself with a lot of help from my friends and I will be up loading new photos on a constant basis. Minimum 5 days a week. Mostly new work, but once in awhile some historical work of mine that I feel good with.
This first photo was shot last week, before my move. I have been working on a series of these with my lovely mannequin bust. Any feed back is greatly appreciated.
